The purpose is to increase the value of the campaigns and get potential consumers’ attention.

Use Street Marketing to Gain a Competitive Advantage

Street marketing is also ideal for identifying opportunities and collecting information about products, markets and competitors. The proactive street team strategy is highly[-effective for achieving quick “ground-level” results and real-time data.

There are various examples of strategies that are used in street marketing. One of them is to provide offers to increase sales. In many cases, businesses do not only supply their products or services to be recognized, but they also offer other things for free. Another instance is to present a fundraiser offer. The point of this strategy is to help other organizations, such as schools, by offering them money. Most companies implement this method not only to increase their sales, but to improve their reputation and image among the community.

When doing street marketing, organizations also consider focusing on the psychological approach. For many companies, this implies if they are having success or not. Street marketing focuses on some psychological aspects to know customers’ behavior and preferences. For example, certain psychological areas study how people’s brains are divided: 45% of people are left-brained, 45% are right brained, and 10% are balanced. Left-brained persons tend to be logical, right-brained ones tend to be emotional, and the rest combine the two. Then, according to the product or service that enterprises provide, and also the kind of customer, businesses decide the way they are going to manage their street marketing campaigns. Besides, almost all the enterprises base their street marketing campaigns on repeating the messages they spread among their customers. Repetition is related to the unconscious part of the mind. This is the one in charge of making decisions. It lets people know what they are going to choose, as well as what they are going to buy. Businesses follow the principle that establishes that, the more people paying attention to the campaign, the more possibilities that campaign has for being remembered.

Examples of Street Marketing

There are various organizations who have implemented street marketing strategies. The majority of them are small companies, but there are also big companies that have involved in the street marketing environment. Most of the examples of the strategies that both small and big enterprises have put into action include costumed persons, the distribution of tickets, people providing samples, among others.

As stated before, one street marketing conventional method that is used by many businesses is to provide fliers. The goal is to create awareness on the customers about what the enterprise is doing

Guerilla Marketing – The Prince at the Book Fair

For example, Match.com organized a street marketing activity in the “Feria del Libro” (“Book Fair”) in Madrid. It consisted of a man dressed like a prince who was walking among the crowd looking for his “real love”. He had a glass slipper and even got to try the shoe on some people. A woman behind him was giving bookmarks to the people which contained messages such as “Times have changed; the way to find love, too” or “You have been reading love stories all your life; experience yours on Match.com”.

Guerilla Marketing – “Avestruz” The Ostrich

Also, in Madrid and Barcelona, Nokia developed a campaign called “Avestruz” (“Ostrich”) to promote the 5500 and 5700 mobiles. In the campaign, a group of real-size ostrich puppets tried to interact with young people in order to let them know these mobiles provide a high-quality MP3 playback. The puppets were holding their own telephones and listening to the music. When a young person appeared, the puppet tried to catch his/her attention to show him/her the quality of the mobile. 

There are enterprises that disseminate passes or tickets to different events. For example, Sony invests on joining promoters and tells them that they have to infiltrate in public meetings. What they have to do is to distribute free tickets to concerts and other musical events sponsored by the company.

Marketing with SMS Text + Street Teams

Another instance is the Spanish company Clickair (an extension of Iberia airlines), that developed a campaign in which a group of five people had to walk through Barcelona streets dressed as Euros. The group was supplying approximately 3,000 tickets to promote different Clickair destinations. The people who first sent a SMS message with the required information would get free tickets to go on a trip. In the end, the company received a total of 3,390 messages.

Modern WordPress websites and blogs are developed and designed to scale for optimal use on any device, and are usually developed using a (CMS/WCMS), as are most modern websites due to the ease-of-use and ability to update, monitor and secure the website. CMS’s are supported by the owner company (example: Magento), or better yet a tech community like beloved work-friends from WordPress.org. CMS’s are predominately programmed, or written (in layman’s terms) in PHP and HTML/CSS.

Traditional = Manual

Traditional websites are more or less: (1) static in function and nature – always the same and poor SEO; (2) designed manually in HTML/CSS – requiring $$$ programmers to update and maintain, the (3) content is organized in a fixed page structure – difficult to change or update; and usually (4) not updated frequently – SEO & Google need new content. Static websites are programmed manually, and do not implement a CMS.

What the WCMS/CMS – CMA/CDA ?!?

For the purpose of this article, the terms Website CMS (WCMS) and CMS are synonymous. Acronyms and alphabet soup are not important typically for most business owners, so this is for the tech-inclined individuals learning to use new Internet tools. By their nature, content management systems support the separation of content and presentation. A Content Management System (CMS) has two major components: a Content Management Application (CMA) and a Content Delivery Application (CDA). The Content Management Application (CMA) is a front-end user interface that allows a user (even those with limited expertise or ability), to add, modify, and remove content from a website – without the help of an costly programmer or webmaster. The Content Delivery Application (CDA) compiles data and information and updates the website automatically.

CMS features vary widely. Most CMS’s include Web-based publishing (WCMS), format management, history editing and version control, indexing, search, and retrieval. By their nature, content management systems support the separation of content and presentation.

What is a Blog?

Content Management Systems like WordPress.org make blogs (and websites) better and easier to build, update, manage and monitor. A blog is a type of website where the content is usually presented in a reverse chronological order with newer content appear first, however any menu or feed order can be easily achieved. Blog-styled content is often referred to as a blog post.

 

Blogs are super important and ubiquitous for Content Marketing and there are 100’s of thousands of corporate blogs that produce limitless informational and industry content from thought leaders.

 

Blog posts also can enable a comments section where users can interact and respond to the blog post or article. Enabled is the a default setting in the blog CMS and public comments can be monitored and filtered, or completely disabled easily.

 

Even a small Blogsite with just a few pages is enough to improve the likelihood of searches choosing your businesses’ products or services. You may only need a homepage and a few supporting pages without complex graphic design or extensive copywriting.

A business website gives customers an easy way to contact you and can increase your online presence making it more likely that those seeking out your products or services will find you. Blog or Website, or Both?

 

A destination on the World Wide Web or Public Internet, is most-generally and correctly referred to as a “website”. Blogs are a modern type of website, with benefits. The main difference between a blog and other types of websites is that blogs are dynamic by design and optimized to be regularly updated with new content. Blog posts are displayed in a reversed chronological order (newer posts first) by default.

 

Typical websites are static in nature where content is organized in pages, and they are not updated frequently. Some bloggers publish multiple new articles a day.

Blogs can be a part of the larger website. Often businesses have a blog section where they regularly create content to inform and educate their customers.

 

Because you can use WordPress to create a website and blog, a lot of business owners use WordPress to build their small business website.

In simple terms, all blogs can be a website or part of a website. However, not all websites can be called blogs.

 

It does not have a blog or any content published in a sequential order. It uses pages to organize and present information about a business.

You can also say that blogs have articles that are organized using categories and tags. On the other hand, websites use pages to organize and display content.

 

What is The Difference between Blog Posts and Web Pages in WordPress?

WordPress is the most popular blogging platform, and it has two default content types: posts and pages. Often beginners get confused between the two.

Blog posts are displayed in a reverse chronological order (newest to oldest) on your blog page because they are timely content which means your users will have to dig deeper to view older posts.

 

Pages are static “one-off” type content such as you’re About Page, Contact Page, Products or Services Pages, etc. Pages are usually used to create a website structure and the structural layout. Blogs can have menus with pages too.

Top brands and small businesses alike can create blogs to educate their customers, share news, and reach a wider audience. Blogging is an essential part of any Content Marketing Strategy for businesses.

How Do I Start a Blog?

I recommend using WordPress 99% of the time. It is the world’s most popular blogging platform and website builder. 1/3 of all websites on the internet are built using WordPress.

 

WordPress.org vs WordPress.com

There are two entities known as WordPress: WordPress.com, which is a hosted solution using free WordPress technology but limiting clients to paid access for nearly anything. Or… (YES!) WordPress.org, also known as self-hosted WordPress. I recommend using mega-wonderful WordPress.org for instant access to all of WordPress’ world of features. WordPress.org also lets you make money from your blog without any commissions or restrictions.

 

 

Starting your own Blogsite on WordPress.org

 

You will need to:

  • Purchase domain name (URL) – WWW address for browser. Example: bikerentpuertorico.com.
  • Purchase website hosting account – This will be the webhost and home of your Blogsite content.

I went to WordPress.org and entered search term: “disable Gutenberg”, and found a same-named plug-in. I installed and activated the plug-in.

Bounce Rate

Bounce Rate:is not necessarily or always bad. Bounce rate is the % of visitors of a single page on website that didn’t read more pages = BOUNCE RATE. Reasons this can happen: (a) visitor didn’t travel deeper into a site or (b) spent some time on the page and was satisfied, (c) #bookmark or #share on #Facebook. Pogo Sticking

Pogo Sticking is always a bad. The user performs a search and clicks a result and almost immediately clicks back to the #SERP search result page to click a different result = POGO-STICKING. This is a direct result of immediate dissatisfaction in the search result. This is a significant negative Google search ranking page (SERP) factor. The user is essentially telling Google…“I did not find what I expected or wanted, and I’m still looking”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][mk_padding_divider][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1522778768299{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Bounce Rate is more accurately called a key indicator than a direct measure of the effectiveness of a website in encouraging viewers to continue with their visit. Bounce Rate is expressed as a percentage and represents the proportion of visits that end on the first page of the website that the visitor sees.

Also, if users are not viewing a Responsive website design which has been optimized for phones and every device; mobile users on smaller screens may also immediately turn-away rather than pinch-and-scroll.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1522781854549{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Unclear UX or Unprofessional Design

Website Loads Improperly Or Too Slowly

A website that takes too long to load for whatever reason will lose search value and Google will lower the SERP ranking. A webpage that loads in under 3 seconds is optimal, while five seconds is generally the maximum time a user will wait. Heavy images, broken themes and bad code, malicious software or viruses, client-side misconfigured scripts, and flash; are just a few of the many technical reasons a website can load slowly. A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes is a popular-science book on cosmology (the study of the universe) by British physicist Stephen Hawking. It was first published in 1988. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most brilliant minds, Stephen Hawking, who died this week at the age of 76, was known throughout the world for his contributions to science, his books, his television appearances, his lectures and through biographical films. For the first time, Hawking’s 1966 PhD thesis is available for anyone to read online for free. This is what the work of a then-unknown 24-year-old mastermind looks like.

To celebrate Open Access Week 2017, the University of Cambridge was granted permission by one of its most famous alums, Stephen Hawking, to make his PhD thesis available online free. It’s been a long time coming, too. Just the catalog record of the work gets hundreds of views on Cambridge’s Open Access repository, Apollo, over the course of a few months.
