Are you seeing unexpected changes to your WordPress website?

If you woke up this morning and found your WordPress website was no longer displaying as expected, then there’s a good chance you’ve got the Gutenberg Website Blues.

Is your premium theme editor is gone… and in its place is some strange quaintly-named WordPress Block Editor meant to replace the basic WordPress Classic Editor (WCE).

Is Your recognized WordPress Editor Gone?

Are your fonts no longer configured correctly?

Are you seeing unexpected formatting changes?

Yes, you were notified and warned about Gutenberg.

Gutenberg is a the new WordPress block editor. It’s a clear upgrade to WordPress’ Classic Editor – if that’s what you use, but not an editor I currently want to use as a replacement for my far superior premium theme with the WCE.

See a Gutenberg example here.

Premium Themes + WordPress Classic Editor

Most web designers don’t use the basic editor by itself, we use WCE and a premium theme (I recommend and use Jupiter by ArtBees) with plug-ins to make our websites look and awesome and work smarter!

The WordPress Classic Editor hasn’t changed much, and is now facing some competition from new (paid) web design platforms such as Medium and Ghost. But don’t worry die-hard WordPresser’, Medium is on it’s way out (financial problems), and Ghost will not gain market share (no free option). About The WordPress Classic Editor (WCE)

But don’t worry die-hard WordPresser’, Medium is on it’s way out (financial problems), and Ghost will not gain market share (no free option, recurring monthly fees). I went to WordPress.org and entered search term: “disable Gutenberg”, and found a same-named plug-in. I installed and activated the plug-in.

disable wordpress gutenberg editor

RESULT: FAIL!

The result was wasting 10-minutes of my life installing and testing the plugin. The plugin did not work (for me). See, no WCE![/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1544900063943{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]
