Modern WordPress websites and blogs are developed and designed to scale for optimal use on any device, and are usually developed using a (CMS/WCMS), as are most modern websites due to the ease-of-use and ability to update, monitor and secure the website. CMS’s are supported by the owner company (example: Magento), or better yet a tech community like beloved work-friends from CMS’s are predominately programmed, or written (in layman’s terms) in PHP and HTML/CSS.

Traditional = Manual

Traditional websites are more or less: (1) static in function and nature – always the same and poor SEO; (2) designed manually in HTML/CSS – requiring $$$ programmers to update and maintain, the (3) content is organized in a fixed page structure – difficult to change or update; and usually (4) not updated frequently – SEO & Google need new content. For the purpose of this article, the terms Website CMS (WCMS) and CMS are synonymous. By their nature, content management systems support the separation of content and presentation. A Content Management System (CMS) has two major components: a Content Management Application (CMA) and a Content Delivery Application (CDA).
